About the role
- Support product and project initiatives by identifying and analyzing business needs, contributing to effort estimates, defining scope and objectives, and collaborating closely with business users.
- Own, maintain, refine, and prioritize the product backlog for assigned domains in alignment with product vision and business strategy.
- Partner with Business Analysts and Scrum team members to create clear user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers to ensure backlog items align with strategic objectives and measurable outcomes.
- Participate in and support Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Partner with UX, Engineering, QA, and Training teams to ensure releases are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.
- Work with the Training team to identify and support training requirements for system releases, including “train-the-trainer” needs and supporting materials.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, operations, and technology partners to understand requirements and translate them into actionable work items.
- Clarify scope, manage dependencies, and balance trade-offs between time, scope, and quality.
- Produce and maintain supporting artifacts as needed, including process diagrams, functional descriptions, and interaction notes, to ensure shared understanding across teams.
- Build deep knowledge of travel booking workflows, including but not limited to prospecting, search, fare rules, booking, passengers, itineraries, cancellations, and refunds.
- Develop a strong understanding of the technical ecosystem, including front-end experiences, back-end services, core APIs, and integrations with third-party travel systems.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned products and domains.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role supporting complex digital or technical products; travel or hospitality experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, SDLC, and tools such as Jira, Scrumwise, or equivalent
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
- Working knowledge of web technologies, APIs, and data flows; experience with booking or reservations systems is a plus
- Willingness to travel occasionally for training and business events.
