About the role

  • Propose, plan and manage environmental drilling projects, ensuring alignment with client goals, regulatory standards, and company values
  • Coordinate with project managers and environmental staff to integrate drilling activities into broader environmental solutions
  • Monitor project budgets, timelines, and quality metrics
  • Lead and mentor drilling crews, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Conduct training on equipment operation, safety protocols, and environmental compliance
  • Promote employee ownership values through collaboration and shared success
  • Ensure all drilling activities comply with federal, state, and local environmental regulations
  • Maintain accurate field documentation, including boring logs, sample records, and chain-of-custody forms
  • Support data collection and reporting for site characterization and remediation
  • Oversee mobilization, maintenance, and inventory of drilling equipment and supplies
  • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to ensure timely and cost-effective service delivery
  • Represent the company in the field and during client interactions, demonstrating professionalism and technical competence
  • Assist in proposal development, cost estimating, and scope definition
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements and service expansion throughout Midwest
  • Support, actively participate, and act in accordance with Wright’s and Eocene Environmental Group's culture of safety and employee ownership
  • Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintain knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in environmental or geotechnical drilling operations
  • Class A CDL or be able to obtain within 60 days of employment
  • Strong knowledge of drilling methods, including hollow stem auger, direct push, and rotary techniques
  • Familiarity with environmental sampling and remediation practices
  • Proven leadership abilities and team management experience
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Demonstrated reliability, strong work ethic, and effective time management
  • Professional attitude with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfortable interacting daily with clients, contractors, and internal team members
  • Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with employees and vendors
