About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on aviation fuel storage and distribution equipment
- Inspect, test, and maintain pumps, motors, valves, pipelines, filtration systems, and associated plant equipment
- Support the maintenance and testing of critical safety devices and control systems
- Conduct routine inspections of fuel storage tanks, bunds, and associated infrastructure
- Diagnose equipment faults and coordinate repairs where required
- Support calibration and testing activities for operational and safety-critical equipment
- Complete maintenance records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation accurately and on time
- Assist with integrity inspections and engineering improvement projects
- Support contractors working on site and ensure compliance with company safety requirements
- Participate in emergency response activities and provide technical support during operational incidents
- Work closely with airport operational teams and site management to minimise disruption to fuel operations
- Promote continuous improvement, excellent housekeeping standards, and engineering best practice across all locations
- Participate in site inspections and audits
Requirements
What you’ll need- Essential Experience in a maintenance, engineering, mechanical, or plant technician role
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
- Full UK driving licence
- Good communication and reporting skills
- Willingness to travel regularly throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays
- Desirable Experience within aviation, fuel storage, oil & gas, petrochemical, logistics, or other regulated industrial environments
- Knowledge of pumps, valves, filtration systems, pipelines, or transfer equipment
- Electrical or instrumentation experience
- Mechanical apprenticeship, NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification
- IOSH Working Safely, IOSH Managing Safely, or similar accreditation
- Familiarity with safety-critical systems and emergency shutdown equipment
