Controller
World Insurance Associates LLCController position overseeing day-to-day management of accounting cycles at World Investment Advisors. Responsible for maintenance of the general ledger, financial reports, and adherence to internal controls.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage all accounting processes from implementation and reviews.
- Oversight of A/P cycle completeness, ensuring timely payments to vendors.
- Assurance of client relationships and timely completion of invoices.
- Management of cash balances, ensuring appropriate availability for financial commitments.
- Prepares reports summarizing and forecasting business activity and financial position.
- Directs preparation of budgets and reviews budget proposals.
- Coordinates information for audits, drafting audit schedules and financial statements.
- Prepares and/or reviews reports required by regulatory agencies, tax returns, etc.
- Analyzing financial data for accuracy and correctness in software platform entries.
- Ensures team compliance with GAAP, internal control processes, and segregation of duties.
- Other projects and tasks as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong accounting background (Don’t be green. This is a senior position).
- Ability to handle a month-end close that is audit-proof.
- M&A and acquisition accounting experience is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with advanced accounting software.
- Experience in GL management.
- Knowledge of tax law, current GAAP requirements, audit standards.
- Advanced user of Microsoft Excel.
- 7-10 years (minimum) relevant accounting experience.
- Experience with M&A/acquisition accounting.
- Experience in Netsuite or similar financial software.
- API Software familiarity (Boomi, Workato, etc.) a plus.
