About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the implementation, integration, and support of APIs with external stakeholders; ensure secure and reliable software evolution that aligns with stakeholder expectations and WADA's software roadmap.
  • Implement API-related features.
  • Demonstrate API capabilities and integration procedures to external stakeholders; provide clear documentation and timely support to meet stakeholders’ needs.
  • Collect stakeholders’ API requests and coordinate with software architects and product teams to ensure alignment and prioritization.
  • Evaluate and advise on security aspects of software design and architecture, ensuring security controls and monitoring are effectively implemented.
  • Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities in applications and systems through security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scanning.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Software or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in software development with expertise in supporting external stakeholders with REST API integration.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (Java, scripting languages), secure coding practices, and security and monitoring tools.
  • Strong understanding of software, networking, and security concepts, with experience troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose root causes, develop effective solutions, and document technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to translate customer requests into technical requirements, drive discussions, and follow through on prioritization.
  • Ability to communicate security risks and solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with Mendix or DevOps is an asset.
  • Excellent oral and written skills in one of WADA’s two official languages (English/French) and a very good command of the other; additional languages are an asset.
