About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead aspects of results management related to athlete whereabouts and atypical results, and identify strategies to optimize work in these areas
- Monitor global anti-doping litigation trends
- Provide legal advice to stakeholders, colleagues and the Legal Affairs team
- Support WADA's external counsel in litigation before civil/state courts and sports tribunals
- Assist with investigations as required
- Participate in and present at various internal and external meetings, events and conferences, as appropriate
- Draft and review WADA legal documents (rules, regulations, best-practice templates, guidance, etc.)
- Produce reports and other legal documents as required.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Qualified lawyer with at least three years' experience in a legal environment
- Experience in sports law and anti-doping regulation is a major asset
- Ability to adapt quickly to a constantly evolving environment
- Ability to engage internal and external stakeholders to meet deadlines and appropriately escalate issues
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate in a diverse, international environment
- Excellent oral and written skills in one of WADA's two official languages (English/French) and a very good command of the other official language; knowledge of Spanish or another language is an asset
- Occasional evening or weekend work
- Travel may be required
