About the role
- Oversee daily operations of a Quality Assurance team (7-12 members) and provide day-to-day leadership support
- Review University training materials for accuracy and compliance and ensure QA Specialists are properly trained
- Coach team members for performance improvements and oversee performance management actions
- Monitor QA Review Dispute Process and partner with stakeholders through remediation
- Manage Policy & Compliance Memo process including drafting, approval, and document retention
- Monitor and interpret changes in legislation related to Title IV and implement policies/procedures to ensure compliance
- Monitor controls impacting Title IV program administration and support compliance efforts and external audits
- Responsible for QA Specialist Dashboard data entry and reporting and monitoring team projects/tasks
- Manage process and procedure reviews to ensure compliance with federal, VA, state, and organizational policies and regulations
- Maintain the policy and procedures manual and keep abreast of regulatory changes
- Participate in ongoing department and special projects and represent the Associate Director in their absence
- Hire, train, develop, and manage Financial Aid Quality Assurance Specialists, allocate work and manage overtime
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years of financial aid, advising, training, auditing, military benefits, accounting, or related experience required
- Certified Financial Aid Administrater (FAAC) preferred
- Minimum of one (1) year of leadership experience preferred
- Experience developing and implementing compliant policies and procedures in a Title IV environment
- Regulatory analysis and interpretation experience preferred
- Experience with data processing and automated records maintenance systems preferred
- Experience in higher education preferred
- Experience working in a technology-driven enterprise preferred
- Knowledge of available private, state, and federal financial aid programs
- Experience in non-term financial aid management preferred
- Knowledge of academic and business workings of a higher education institution
- Knowledge of University policies and procedures
- Knowledge of ED Express & PeopleSoft software
- Skills in oral and written communication
- Skill in operating equipment, such as personal computer and phone system
- Skill in utilizing technology, including ability to navigate websites, perform word processing, create spreadsheets, and send electronic messages
- Ability to use and facilitate online communications using email and/or other technology-based communication media
- Ability to problem solve
