About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Carry out project specific inspections and release materials as per supplier’s Inspection and Test Plan (ITP)
- Conduct Witness, Hold, Monitor and Review activities as per the approved Supplier’s / Sub-supplier’s ITP
- Perform Vendor evaluation for qualification and inclusion in the Wood Global Vendor List
- Perform Vendor QC system audits and surveillances
- Be familiar with the material requisition requirements and Wood / client project specifications and drawings
- Review supplier’s ITP based on requirements in purchase order, material requisition, job specifications, codes, standards, statutory regulations, etc.
- Attend and lead pre-inspection meetings / progress review meetings at supplier’s workshop
- Witness shop inspection and testing of materials and equipment as detailed in supplier’s ITP
- Prepare and issue Inspection Reports after each inspection visit
- Issue Vendor Non-Conformity Reports (VNCR) and expedite their close out
- Check the compliance of materials and equipment with purchase order requirements
- Ensure all works are completed per project specifications
- Be fully aware of concessions raised, approved and/or rejected by the requisitioning Engineer
- Review and accept supplier final inspection data books and material certificates to release materials
- Prepare and issue final inspection reports
- Liaise with requisitioning Engineer and Inspection & Expediting Coordinator as appropriate
- Report promptly all matters related to inspections and testing attended
- Provide feedback on supplier / sub-supplier performance upon request
- Review and analyze supplier’s / sub-supplier’s fabrication schedules
- Review progress status of supplier’s / sub-supplier’s activities
- Issue expediting reports highlighting critical areas requiring recovery or corrective actions
- Expedite corrective actions required to resolve fabrication or delivery problems
Requirements
What you’ll need- University Degree or Technical Diploma
- At least 10 years of experience in the field of inspection and testing of rotating equipment skid mounted, machineries and packages
- Certified Level 2 Operator for non-destructive testing (PT, MT, UT, RT) in accordance with the rules established by the standard UNI EN ISO 9712, or trained and certified according to other international standards equivalent to UNI EN ISO 9712 (e.g. ASNT SNT-TC-1A)
- Working knowledge of the following standards: API 610, API 611, API 612, API 613, API 616, API 617, API 618, API 673, API 681
- Has a broad knowledge of construction, fabrication and inspection techniques
- Has knowledge of quality management systems including ISO 9001
- Good planning and organizational skills
- Has a pro-active approach in resolving any Quality Control issues / action
- Maintains a professional, safe and ethical standard of behavior in the relationship with Suppliers, Client representatives, or third parties
- Knowledge of MS office
- Fluent English and Italian
- Speaks and writes clearly and informatively
- Takes responsibility for subordinates’ activities, follows instructions, and responds to the Manager of Inspection & Expediting
- Follows Company policies and procedures
- Completes inspection and expediting reports as well as the review of Supplier’s ITP and inspection and testing procedures in timely manner
- Self-motivated
- Committed to identify, analyze, and propose solutions to problems in a constructive and positive manner
