About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage a group of technical personnel as an in-house expert in mechanical engineering.
  • Mentor and develop the existing engineering team.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Familiar with all pertinent codes and standards such as ASME Section 1, NFPA etc.
  • Advise engineering solutions and recommendations to project managers and designers.
  • Review/check drawings and calculations.
  • Coordinate information and drawing preparation with 3rd party design companies.
  • Client visits to present, inspect, or collect information, should be willing to travel to jobsites in North America.
  • Maintain and update current engineering standards as required
  • Review client technical specifications.
  • Review vendor quotes versus project requirements.
  • Proposal preparation and cost estimates.
  • Review vendor requests for material substitutions and approve as appropriate

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize engineering principals in equipment design.
  • Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, strong technical writing, and presentation abilities.
