Provide functional safety lifecycle management responsibility to ensure project compliance with client and Wood Functional Safety specifications and applicable code requirements and national/international standards
Serve as the project focal point on functional safety for project definition, development, and execution
Generate or review key functional safety documents including Functional Safety Plan, Functional Safety Management Procedures, Safety Requirement Specifications, SIS Impact Analysis, SIL Calculations, Emergency Depressurization & Blowdown Specifications, SIL Verification and Validation Procedures
Manage functional safety assessments, audits, security risk assessments and independent verification of lifecycle deliverables
Utilise exSILentia software for managing functional safety lifecycle activities
Track and control project manhours for functional safety activities
Conduct SIS verification and validation reviews according to project standards
Oversee integration of safety systems and ensure project compliance with IEC 61511
Ensure operator is supplied with the required documentation to allow the systems to be operated and maintained properly
Participate as functional safety expert in HAZOP / CHAZOP activities
Participate in Deterministic SIL Workshops as C&I Engineer
Develop, review and approve SIS Proof Test Procedures for end-to-end testing of SIF Loops
Coordinate with other disciplines in the preparation and development of the functional safety deliverables and ensure that other disciplines' input is incorporated
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in chemical or instrumentation engineering
Certified Functional Safety Engineer (CFSE) or TUV FS certified engineer
Good understanding of IEC 61511 SIS Lifecycle model and working knowledge of key SIS Lifecycle activities
Significant experience in Brownfield upgrades / replacement automation and control projects
Knowledge of IEC 62443 and cybersecurity as applicable to functional safety (desirable)
Ability to prioritise tasks effectively to manage multiple projects concurrently
Hands-on experience with exSILentia and/or aeShield software
Knowledge of modelling of complex SIS Loops using FTA (Isograph)
Experience generating/reviewing Functional Safety Plan, Safety Requirement Specifications, SIL Calculations, and SIL Verification and Validation Procedures
