About the role
- Preparation of proposals for engineering and project development scopes.
- Supporting the delivery of renewable energy project development scopes for key clients in accordance with the pre-defined budgets, deadlines and quality requirements.
- Prepare and/or coordinate comprehensive technical deliverables including permit plan sets, site diligence reports, etc.
- Ensure compliance pertaining to the data integrity, documentation, procedures, training, monitoring systems, reporting, and record compliance and retention.
- Provide technical and logistical support to Wood and subcontractor field personnel
- Coordinate scopes using internal and / or subcontracted Wood discipline experts including but not limited to site survey and field work including geotechnical, ALTA, topo, biological, environmental, etc.
- Assist in the management of projects in coordination with multi-disciplinary teams consisting of internal technical staff, as well as subcontractors, in all phases of the execution and delivery of development requirements for renewable energy projects.
- Regularly and accurately reporting the status of projects to team management.
- Contribute to business development activities and assist in securing new opportunities for the company.
- Participation at occasional site visits and meetings in the USA.
- Ensuring health, safety and environmental considerations are integral to the delivery of projects and project tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering related discipline; Master’s degree an asset.
- At least 2 years of experience supporting project development engineering.
- At least 2 years experience with project management-related activities, client relationship management, and interaction with regulatory agencies preferred.
- Business development skills with a proven track record of developing project opportunities and maintaining successful client relationships preferred; strong existing client relationships and professional contacts are highly desirable;
- Experience coordinating with clients, regulatory permitting and resource agencies, and technical staff required.
- Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, and identify the most effective solutions to accomplish objectives of assigned projects.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by Wood’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
- Demonstrated knowledge of project development and engineering activities for renewable energy projects.
- Excellent communication (written and spoken) in English, with the ability to engage and interface with various stakeholders.
- Must have the ability to prepare high quality, concise documents to convey project progress, status and financial information to internal and external project stakeholders.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Valid driving license for use within USA.
- Must be US Citizen or authorized to work lawfully in the US, without sponsorship from Wood.
