About the role

  • Contribute to the delivery of engineering excellence for clients and stakeholders
  • Serve as the technical expert on projects and hold advanced level specialization in one or more areas of expertise.
  • Direct preparation of appropriate engineering documentation for assigned projects, through conceptual, feasibility, FEED and EPC phases.
  • Ensure successful completion of the assigned project/phase within the budgeted time and cost constraints.
  • Participate in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work
  • Evaluate problems, organize investigations, and establish general performance specifications for components, equipment, systems, processes, etc.
  • Check Engineering calculations as well as check all drawings in accordance with industry codes and standards; Assist with the development of junior technical professionals
  • Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Establish detailed designs and performance specifications to fulfill the requirements of assigned general specifications.
  • Responsible for meeting discipline cost and schedule requirements in production of deliverables, coordinates own work schedule, and prepares progress reports.
  • Recommend changes in plans and estimated cost when necessary.
  • Participate in site visits, project review meetings, design reviews and other workshops as required.
  • Provide technical input and support to proposals as required

Requirements

  • MSc degree in Electrical Engineering - Mandatory
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certificate
  • Proficient user of relevant software and calculation templates (Amtech Trimble)
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret Electrical technical information.
  • A strong and capable knowledge of ATEX/UKEX standards (ExF, Ex12 desirable)
  • Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards
  • Working level of competence in own discipline in the execution of assigned tasks.
  • Working level of knowledge of industry and technology development within discipline area
  • Ability to create functional and cost-effective designs and processes that meet complex specification requirements with little support.
  • Knowledge and experience of the following – Electrical generation, transformation and distribution systems.
  • Familiar in specification and interface management of Electrical requirements for Mechanical packages
  • Familiar with interfacing with Client Engineers personnel to facilitate project execution.
  • Experience with managing and liaison with Vendors to facilitate project execution
  • Familiar with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
