About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform monthly closings and related variance analyses
- Prepare forecasts and support budget planning
- Act as a business partner for executive management, divisional leaders and functional departments
- Evaluate and review decisions, participate in and monitor ongoing projects (goal-oriented)
- Plan and implement commercial/financial projects, including ERP system and BI tool
- Cash flow planning and monitoring
- Prepare and deliver key performance indicators and metrics for management
- Serve as the point of contact for subsidiaries on operational and financial matters and controlling topics
- Support the Operations function (Purchasing, Supply Chain, Product Development & Quality) with reports and act as the interface between business needs and the finance team
- Prepare, validate and analyze monthly reporting (including P&L management) and present findings to stakeholders — turning the numbers into actionable insights
- Coordinate the planning and month-end closing process
- Build and further develop controlling, including internal reporting systems, P&L management and KPIs
- Support business units with short-, medium- and long-term budget planning
- Establish and advance topics focused on commercial issues — including identifying opportunities to improve profitability and highlighting growth potential
- Contribute to and implement digitization, automation and process optimization
Requirements
What you’ll need- University degree in business administration/economics, preferably with a focus on Finance/Controlling
- Several years of professional experience in Controlling or in sales roles with controlling responsibilities; experience in the retail/trade environment is a plus
- Excellent German and English skills, both written and spoken
- Versatile, analytical team player with an independent, proactive and particularly hands-on working style
- Strong communication skills across all hierarchy levels, hands-on mentality, pronounced team spirit and an independent, results-oriented approach
- Confident user of all MS Office applications, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge and experience in Business Development, Market Intelligence, Portfolio Management, development of metric-based control logics, strategy development, Commercial Excellence and process efficiency
