Business Development Executive

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Attend First-Time-Appointments (FTAs) with business owners and leaders of small and mid-size businesses to understand their business goals, operational challenges, and technology needs, introduce Wolf Consulting’s services, and assess overall fit.
- Develop and manage relationships with referral sources via various professional business networking activities.
- Maintain disciplined CRM hygiene by accurately recording prospect activity, pipeline status, follow-up tasks, meeting notes, and key account intelligence.
- Develop consultative relationships with prospects and guide them through the sales process with strong follow-through, sound judgment, and clear next-step ownership.
- Communicate with prospects by phone, email, and in person to schedule meetings, conduct follow-up, answer questions, and maintain momentum throughout the sales cycle.
- Work with our technical staff to discover technical details about the prospect’s network.
- Lead sales conversations from discovery through close, tailoring presentations, messaging, and recommendations to each prospect’s priorities, business context, and decision-making style.
- Prepare and present proposals, support contract execution, and assist with a smooth transition from signed agreement through onboarding handoff to the service delivery team.
- Support broader sales and marketing initiatives, including campaigns, events, testimonials, referral development, newsletters, and prospect-facing business promotion activities.
- Contribute to the development and execution of the annual sales and marketing plans.
- Help improve business development processes, standard operating procedures, and best practices to increase consistency, efficiency, and results.
- Assist with research and development of service improvements, extensions, and new services.
- Participate in regularly scheduled and ad hoc department meetings and contribute to cross-functional communication and planning.
Requirements
What you’ll need- A four-year bachelor’s degree in the field of business, computers, network administration or Information Technology, or similar field is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in outside sales, new business development and sales management in a service-based business – moving prospective clients through the sales process and closing sales is preferred.
- Managed Services Provider (MSP) experience is preferred and helpful.
- Strong knowledge of computer networking and computer infrastructure technologies, and computer support needs for small and midsize businesses is required.
- Experience with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel and Outlook) is required. Experience with PowerPoint and Publisher is helpful.
- Sandler Selling System training, experience and certification is preferred and helpful.
