About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Communicate with WM Drivers to assist with problem resolution while on route for residential, commercial, and roll-off lines of business
  • Handle incoming service orders, direct drivers, and resolve service issues
  • Interact with WM customer service, sales, and operational staff, including Route Managers and Mechanics
  • Use WM proprietary software to manage same-day ticket routing and prepare routes for the next day
  • Dispatch drivers to calls using customer needs, driver locations and loads, and daily factors to balance cost and customer satisfaction
  • Optimize routes with sites and the service department
  • Determine daily driver staffing levels
  • Assign routes and service tickets to appropriate drivers and manage route completion
  • Handle incoming calls and emails from customer service and sales
  • Manage pickup and delivery requests for container movements within the market area
  • Communicate with customers while drivers are on-site to resolve pickup and service issues
  • Troubleshoot and resolve delivery and pickup problems
  • Ensure same-day service on missed pickups by managing routing and tracking driver movement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • 6 months of relevant work experience
  • Experience working in a team setting
  • Ability to communicate to several areas effectively
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must have, or be willing to obtain, a REAL ID or TSA-approved alternative if required for business air travel or federal property access
