About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage waste and recycling services for existing construction accounts
- Grow temporary revenue by meeting or exceeding monthly sales goals
- Handle customer service requests and service issues
- Educate customers and prospects on proper recycling processes and WM online tools
- Focus at least 70% of activities on new business
- Grow existing customer relationships, receive referrals, and cold call on new or planned construction projects
- Manage business-to-business sales relationships
- Develop detailed proposals covering multiple services
- Research waste and environmental services business topics
- Attend conferences and symposiums for networking and industry knowledge
- Manage assignments and sales opportunities
- Build trusting relationships and provide high-impact communication
- Prospect and close sales to achieve budgeted sales goals
- Develop marketing plans and maintain prospect database information
- Match WM services to customer needs and communicate pricing and service strategies
- Use WM sales productivity software, including prospect/customer databases, proposal programs, and pricing tools
- Propose customer solutions compliant with local, state, and federal regulations
- Devise sales approaches and solutions

Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree (accredited), or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant work experience
- 1 year of relevant work experience in direct business-to-business sales and phone-based prospecting, in addition to the education requirement
- Prior experience within the construction industry preferred
- Ability to manage business-to-business sales relationships
- Knowledge of customers, pricing, competition, and waste and environmental services
- Ability to develop proposals and sound selling/marketing strategies
- Ability to use sales productivity software, prospect and customer databases, proposal programs, and pricing tools
- Ability to propose solutions compliant with local, state, and federal regulations
- Ability to conduct customer site visits
- Must have or be willing to obtain a REAL ID or TSA-approved alternative if required for air travel or federal-property access
