About the role
- Supervise daily landfill operations and landfill staff
- Coordinate workflow and assignments to achieve operational goals
- Supervise and monitor daily landfill operations, ensuring implementation of safety regulations and company policies
- Coordinate repairs, maintenance, and inspections
- Collect weekly and/or monthly readings and create and submit records and reports
- Oversee personnel needs including coaching, training, and evaluating employee performance; provide input on termination, compensation, and promotion decisions
- Directly supervise 1-2 full-time employees and third-party contractors/consultants
- Travel frequently (up to ~80% daily), based out of Okemos, MI covering up to 20 inactive landfill locations within a 2.5-3 hour radius
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (accredited)
- Experience: 1 year of relevant work experience
- Preferred: Bachelors Degree

- Landfill Gas Management Systems & Controls
- Leachate Systems & Controls
- Water Treatment Systems & Controls
- Landfill Cover Systems
- Surface Water Management Systems & Controls
- Environmental Monitoring Networks
- Pipe Welding
- Electrical Systems
- Equipment operating, health, safety and environmental regulations knowledge
- Supervisory experience (direct supervision of 1-2 employees and contractors)
- Willingness to travel up to 80% and work across multiple inactive landfill sites
- Real ID or TSA-approved alternative may be required for travel
