About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manages the productivity, financial and overall performance of multiple recycling operating units.
  • Ensures Operating Units meet and/or exceed annual objectives and successfully implement organizational initiatives.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of the Area’s recycling operating plans.
  • Reviews and evaluates the area recycling operations performance on a continuing basis.
  • Counsels managers as to the execution of programs, processes or initiatives.
  • Assists in the development of operating unit budget in a timely manner.
  • Oversees human resource needs of the department.
  • Facilitates regularly scheduled Profit and Loss (P&L) reviews.
  • Conducts regular cost of goods sold (COGS) reviews.
  • Implements and maintains programs to improve safety, productivity, and profitability of the Area.
  • Conducts regular site safety reviews with plant managers/supervisors.
  • Visits sites periodically to monitor and evaluate site performance and conditions.
  • Partners with commodity sales team to ensure we are meeting mill standards.
  • Facilitates and coordinates capital planning for the area recycling business.
  • Participates in pertinent industry associations.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Industrial Engineering or similar area of study or in lieu of degree,
  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant work experience
  • 10+ years previous work experience (in addition to education requirements)
