About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manages the productivity, financial and overall performance of multiple recycling operating units.
- Ensures Operating Units meet and/or exceed annual objectives and successfully implement organizational initiatives.
- Assists in the development and implementation of the Area’s recycling operating plans.
- Reviews and evaluates the area recycling operations performance on a continuing basis.
- Counsels managers as to the execution of programs, processes or initiatives.
- Assists in the development of operating unit budget in a timely manner.
- Oversees human resource needs of the department.
- Facilitates regularly scheduled Profit and Loss (P&L) reviews.
- Conducts regular cost of goods sold (COGS) reviews.
- Implements and maintains programs to improve safety, productivity, and profitability of the Area.
- Conducts regular site safety reviews with plant managers/supervisors.
- Visits sites periodically to monitor and evaluate site performance and conditions.
- Partners with commodity sales team to ensure we are meeting mill standards.
- Facilitates and coordinates capital planning for the area recycling business.
- Participates in pertinent industry associations.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Industrial Engineering or similar area of study or in lieu of degree,
- High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant work experience
- 10+ years previous work experience (in addition to education requirements)
