About the role
- Leads the strategic sourcing process for assigned enterprise categories
- Develops and implements category strategies aligned with enterprise objectives
- Leads RFx events for assigned categories
- Manages supplier relationships
- Analyzes data and market trends
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders
- Partners with business units to identify and drive opportunities for improvement
- Negotiates major contracts and agreements
- Researches and develops a pipeline of qualified suppliers
- Designs and applies supplier evaluation techniques
- Tracks and reports on category performance
- Maintains currency with respect to technical, analytical, and industry skills by attending training and seminars
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (accredited) or High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of relevant work experience
- 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in strategic sourcing or category management
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and drive to deliver results
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Familiarity with commodities indices
- Experience in chemicals, rental equipment, small parcels, or similar categories preferred
- Six Sigma Training (nice to have)
