About the role
- Participate in a formal 12-month training program to develop skills to successfully support the engineering aspects of an operating landfill.
- Develop an understanding of all permits governing the construction and operation of landfill disposal sites and other operations.
- Work with professional consulting firms in preparing regulatory documents.
- Assist and work alongside with senior level WM engineers on construction projects.
- Work with operation teams to ensure compliance with permits.
- Assist in the preparation and/or review of engineering, monitoring and environmental reports.
- Assist in environmental reviews and audits.
- Work with landfill managers to formulate short-term and long-term goals.
- Assist in estimating the cost of identified site capital needs.
- Interact with state and local agencies for compliance with regulations.
- Review and understand WM engineering and technical directives.
- Provide technical support to operations and environmental staff.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Engineering, or similar area of study.
- No previous years of experience (in addition to education requirement)
