About the role
- Manage existing business relationships by developing and implementing retention strategies
- Handle all retention requests and provide ongoing education of contract details to existing customers
- Obtain customer contract commitments during face-to-face interactions
- Resolve all customer service escalations within the book of business
- Communicate and work with the Retention Manager to resolve unique customer issues
- Increase revenue and profitability by executing retention call plans
- Match WM services with customer needs and communicate pricing and service strategies
- Propose customer solutions compliant with local, state and federal regulations
- Update and secure customer service agreements
- Use WM sales productivity software tools (Prospect and Customer Database, Proposal Program, Pricing Tools)
- Prepare complex proposals and recommend equipment optimization and leasing options
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration or similar OR High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of relevant work experience
- Two (2) years of relationship management experience in environmental, waste or related service industry (in addition to education requirement)
- Ability to generate reports, general business correspondence, present information and respond to questions for managers, clients and the public
- Significant knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Substantial experience with web based interactive systems
- Exceptional presentation skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with required insurance
