About the role

  • Support implementation and operation of WM’s Ethics and Compliance Program under the Chief Compliance & Ethics Officer and Senior Director of Ethics and Compliance
  • Support administration and oversight of the company’s reporting Helpline and case management system
  • Manage compliance and ethics policies, procedures, processes, communications, trainings, and program initiatives
  • Work closely with HR, internal audit, investigations, corporate security, legal, and other functions to provide guidance on compliance questions and initiatives
  • Assist in oversight, revision and development of processes, procedures, policies, and systems
  • Maintain and administer program initiatives designed to incentivize compliance and ethics
  • Assist with compliance reviews and audits, program risk and self-assessments, and third-party due diligence
  • Develop and launch communication campaigns, training modules, presentations and materials
  • Coordinate compliance committees and forums: set meetings, develop agendas, create materials, take minutes, develop action plans
  • Utilize data analytics on training, engagement, survey, and case management data to identify trends and opportunities
  • Create reports and presentations based on data analysis
  • Assist with conflicts of interest initiatives and manage ad hoc conflicts disclosures
  • Manage shared mailboxes and respond to employee questions and concerns
  • Engage and develop relationships with employees to facilitate program implementation and maintenance
  • Leverage technology and best practices to enhance compliance efforts
  • Drive consistency of compliance activities across business regions and foster a collaborative team-based approach

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (accredited) or in lieu High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience in HR, Legal, Compliance, Internal Audit, or related departments
  • Four (4) or more years of relevant working experience
  • Ethics certification
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint)
  • Experience with VISEO preferred
  • Experience with analyzing data and creating reports and presentations from findings
  • Strong project coordination/project management, organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and conflicting priorities with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to set priorities, successfully track and complete multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Creativity and collaboration to develop new ideas for compliance programs
  • Effective oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with a variety of business units and all levels of management
  • Good judgment and analytical skills, initiative to problem solve and troubleshoot
  • Must maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and professionalism
