About the role

Manages the full fleet of primary and secondary equipment within the assigned area, 2 locations and/or 50 to 99 assets
Oversite of Harrisonburg and Salem VA Hauling sites; position sits in Harrisonburg VA
Focus on achieving market base profitability via cost control, employee development, and training and safety standards
Review capital equipment requisitions
Ensure safe, reliable vehicles and effective utilization of assets
Conduct fleet evaluations and ensure maintenance shops are staffed and mechanics trained
Ensure vehicle management systems are effectively utilized
Comply with Mission to Zero standards and regulations
Participate in budget and financial reviews
Oversee department personnel, performance evaluations, and training
Provide and submit required reports in a timely manner

Manages the full fleet of primary and secondary equipment within the assigned area
Reviews capital equipment requisitions in line with Corporate guidelines and objectives
Ensures safe and reliable vehicles are available to meet operational requirements
Manages effective utilization of vehicle assets
Conducts fleet evaluations to ensure maintenance standards are met
Ensures maintenance shops are adequately staffed and mechanics are properly trained
Ensures vehicle management systems are effectively utilized
Complies with Waste Management’s Mission to Zero standards and regulations
Meets all financial review dates and corporate directed programs in a timely fashion
Assists in budget process as required
Oversees personnel needs including selecting, coaching, disciplining, and training employees
Conducts and/or attends driver/safety meetings and provides training and presentations as needed
Valid driver’s license required
