About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own full cycle accounting activities, including general ledger, journal entries, accruals, and month-end close
- Prepare financial statements and perform variance analysis on complex financial data
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and maintain effective internal controls
- Partner with finance and business stakeholders while working independently
- Prepare highly complex monthly journal entries and supporting audit trail documentation
- Analyze general ledger and accrual accounts for accuracy
- Prepare monthly combined financial statements, reports, and financial packages
- Participate in monthly financial meetings
- Assist with year-end closings and prepare annual financial statements under accounting guidelines and US GAAP
- Assist with annual audit working papers
- Guide Finance personnel on internal and external accounting procedures
- Assist with annual budgets, updates, and strategic plans
- Coordinate monthly combining entries and prepare quarterly consolidation reports
- Prepare advanced financial reports and complete analytical projects
- Assist managers/directors with supervision of departmental staff
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree (accredited) in Accounting or similar
- High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant experience
- 5 years of accounting experience, including 3 years in a mid to senior level accounting role
- 5 years of relevant work experience in addition to the education requirement
- Experience in a mid-to-large company
- Direct ownership of full cycle accounting and corporate financial reporting
- Experience with general ledger, journal entries, accruals, and month-end close
- Experience preparing financial statements and performing variance analysis
- Knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- High attention to detail
