About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assess and assign incoming financial assurance requests, including prioritization and responsibility assignment
  • Independently review financial assurance requests and recommend appropriate actions
  • Coordinate with business unit and corporate management, surety brokers, and financial institutions
  • Ensure financial instruments comply with specifications, company policy, negotiated terms, and available credit lines
  • Monitor and assess the cost of the financial assurance portfolio
  • Review invoices, process payments, coordinate expense recognition with accounting, and prepare cost analyses
  • Assess the company’s financial position through key financial ratios, benchmarking, and stress testing
  • Support financial presentations for management, the Board of Directors, senior management, credit rating agencies, and external parties
  • Prepare and execute project plans with goals, timelines, milestones, and recommendations
  • Manage deadlines and respond to field organization customer needs
  • Communicate with internal operations management and external financial institutions, insurance companies, and surety companies
  • Analyze and recommend on leases; coordinate negotiation and execution of approved capital leases
  • Assist with daily operations and financial reviews of captive insurance companies
  • Monitor and manage the captive investments portfolio
  • Prepare month-end and quarter-end reports and reconciliations
  • Support process reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide analytical support to Treasury and Risk Management on special projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or similar area of study, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited)
  • 4 years of relevant experience
  • 3 years of previous experience in addition to the education requirement
  • Self-motivated and able to work as part of a team and as an individual contributor
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing a broad and high-volume set of financial instruments
  • Strong organizational skills to plan and prioritize workflow
  • Willingness to take responsibility for assigned work areas and tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer-focused approach when interacting with field organization customers
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Adobe
  • Must have or be willing to obtain a REAL ID or TSA-approved alternative if required for business air travel or federal property access
