About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Cover the Atlanta area as a Construction Sales Account Manager
  • Manage waste and recycling services for existing construction accounts
  • Grow temporary revenue by meeting or exceeding monthly sales goals
  • Handle customer service requests and service issues
  • Educate customers and prospects on proper recycling processes and WM's online tools
  • Focus 70% or greater of activities on new business
  • Grow existing customer relationships and receive referrals
  • Cold call new and planned construction projects
  • Manage business-to-business sales relationships
  • Develop detailed proposals encompassing multiple services
  • Research the waste and environmental services business
  • Attend conferences and symposiums for networking and industry and market knowledge
  • Manage assignments and build trusting relationships
  • Provide high-impact communication
  • Prospect and close sales to achieve budgeted sales goals
  • Develop and implement selling strategies for revenue growth
  • Develop marketing plans and maintain key information in the prospect database
  • Match WM services with customer needs by demonstrating knowledge of customers, pricing, and competition
  • Communicate pricing and service strategies and refer additional WM business opportunities internally
  • Use WM sales productivity software tools, including prospect and customer databases, proposal programs, and pricing tools
  • Propose customer solutions compliant with local, state, and federal regulations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's Degree (accredited) or in lieu of degree
  • High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant work experience
  • 1 year of relevant work experience in direct business-to-business sales, and phone based business-to-business prospecting resulting in successfully obtaining customer appointments (in addition to education requirement)
  • 20 hours of training with Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)
  • Certifications: WM CRA
  • Involved in one or more of the following: U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), American Institute of Architects (AIA), Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), or National Association of Home Builders
  • Candidates must be local to the Atlanta area
  • Prior outside / field sales experience in a construction setting preferred
  • Must have, or be willing to obtain, a REAL ID or TSA-approved alternative if required for air travel or access to federal property
