Implement SideBy Care’s Gut-Brain therapy program, as part of an integrated team, to help clients with functional GI disorders/Disorders of Gut-Brain Interaction (DGBI) to reduce their symptoms by adjusting their attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors, and develop new coping strategies to manage stress
Apply gut-directed psychotherapy interventions (primarily CBT and ACT) and other therapeutic interventions as needed via telehealth appointments according to SideBy Care’s GI-specific protocols
Assess client eligibility for SideBy Care program participation given its unique holistic approach and virtual delivery model
Collaborate with medical providers, GI-focused dietitians, and company leadership to build and maintain a cohesive, client-focused environment
At times, provide education related to the provision of gut-brain interventions to partnered medical providers, client support groups, and community education forums when applicable
Assist in creating client education materials
Maintain clinical knowledge in an evolving healthcare environment
Document appropriately and in a timely manner in SideBy Care’s electronic medical record (EMR) system
Serve as a strong client advocate and a role model for quality client care
Engage in continuous education for functional GI disorders/DGBI to stay informed about the latest treatment modalities
Identify and suggest opportunities for improvement that ensure client safety and quality outcomes
Prioritize flexibility in your “virtual clinic” schedule to maximize client access to appointments, collaborate with other care team members, and meet productivity targets
Requirements
Masters degree in Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution (required)
Current provisional or full mental health license in California
Must have an NPI
CAQH Login (preferred)
3+ years experience in the direct delivery of evidence-based therapies (CBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, etc.)
Applicants without direct experience in providing gut-brain therapies may be considered if they have strong skills in applying CBT and/or ACT protocols for other medical conditions and a very strong understanding of the gut-brain connection
1+ years experience in the direct delivery of somatic and/or gut-brain specific therapies to functional GI/DGBI clients (preferred)
Knowledge of key psychological diagnostic and therapeutic principles, practices, and techniques
Strong understanding of the GI system, gut-brain connection, and basic knowledge of the primary treatments for functional GI disorders/DGBI
Up-to-date knowledge of regulatory and licensing requirements, including documentation standards, coding, billing and use of medical terminology
Proficient in Google Suite/Workspace, at least one electronic medical record (EMR) system, Zoom (or a comparable remote platform for telehealth), and Slack
Demonstrates interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and compassionately with clients, medical providers, and team members
Maintains strict confidentiality of personnel, fiscal, and private health information
Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with rapidly changing client care needs
