About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Review returns prepared by tax staff and/or seniors for accuracy
- Participate in all aspects of financial services tax engagements, including hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, broker dealers, and management companies
- Research and draft memoranda involving complex tax matters
- Identify and implement tax planning opportunities
- Handle and resolve tax controversies
- Oversee complete tax research projects for a variety of clients and diverse industries
- Manage multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines
- Conduct constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and provide counsel accordingly
- Serve in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader
- Take a lead role on all aspects of tax engagements
- Supervise and mentor staff
- Build and maintain relationships with clients
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- CPA license, JD or Masters of Science in Taxation is required
- At least 5 years of prior experience working in the tax department of a public accounting firm
- Experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff
- Excellent analytical and technical tax skills
- Exceptional client service and communication skills with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment
- Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client’s management
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills
- Strong attention to detail
