About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage multiple work streams at any given time
  • Coordinate financial due diligence engagements
  • Collaborate with client management on diligence focus areas and provide real-time communications of issues and deal considerations
  • Participate in discussions regarding business performance and forecasting assumptions with senior team management
  • Identify and support analyses of target financial data for quality of earnings, normalized working capital, valuation, contractual matters, and future cash flows
  • Work on reports presenting findings and recommendations around key financial and business issues in transactions
  • Identify integration, separation, and post-transaction transition issues
  • Collaborate with team members and contribute to the development of M&A best practices
  • Analyze financial and operational results of businesses to be acquired or sold by reviewing accounting records, understanding business drivers, and interviewing management
  • Research industry trends, technologies, seasonality, cyclicality, and cash flow requirements to provide client insight
  • Use technology and tools to analyze datasets and present visualizations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • 3+ years of related M&A work experience
  • Active CPA certification or in the process of obtaining one
  • Experience within another large professional services organization; public accounting experience preferred
  • High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Effective internal and external communication skills, active listening, and appropriate follow-up on open action items
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and adapt quickly to new challenges and concepts
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting
  • Desire to be a long-term contributor to a dynamic team
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 40% on short notice
  • Experience in a mergers or acquisitions transactions role
  • Established networking skills in a relevant industry
