About the role
- Consistently deliver exclusive, source-based articles
- Build and maintain strong relationships with bankers, lawyers, investors, company executives, and other key players.
- Become our M&A expert in a specific sector
- Cover potential transactions at an early enough stage that they are actionable for our subscribers
- Attend and report from conferences, events and meetings to drive fresh, agenda-setting coverage.
- Work collaboratively with editors and colleagues to shape impactful, forward-looking reporting.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of reporting experience, preferably in financial journalism, though other beats considered if the candidate can demonstrate the ability to break exclusive or complex stories.
- Proven ability to develop sources and consistently uncover news.
- Strong writing and analytical skills with the ability to make technical or complex information accessible to a sophisticated readership.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced newsroom and managing multiple storylines simultaneously.
