About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Operate, administer and continuously develop our server landscape (on-premises and cloud), ensuring availability, performance and data security.
Manage and optimize central services such as Active Directory, Entra ID, Exchange Online and Microsoft 365, and administer modern cloud and SaaS solutions.
Support and develop network infrastructure at all locations, including firewalls, VPNs and security concepts, and implement IT policies and access control models.
Plan and introduce new systems, tools and processes with a focus on sustainable integration and added value for the organization.
Responsible for IT budget, license management and procurement, as well as evaluating and selecting new technologies and solutions.
Coordinate external IT service providers and technology partners and work closely with internal teams.
Maintain and improve IT documentation, processes, security concepts and disaster recovery plans.
Ensure smooth IT operations at the locations in Aachen, Berlin and Cologne and, prospectively, at further international locations.

Requirements

What you’ll need

You have completed vocational training or a degree in an IT-related field or have equivalent practical experience in a similar role.
You have several years of experience administering Microsoft infrastructures (AD, Entra ID, Exchange, M365).
You have solid knowledge of networking technologies, IT security and firewall administration.
You have experience with cloud infrastructures and modern SaaS environments.
Ideally, you are also familiar with macOS and Apple device management (e.g. MDM, Jamf).
You have experience in IT project management and budget responsibility.
You work in a structured way, think strategically and make decisions independently.
You communicate clearly and keep an overview even when handling multiple parallel topics.
You are willing to visit our other locations occasionally.
