About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support field investigations or assessments
Perform design engineering calculations
Assist in the horizontal and vertical design of municipal roadways, parks, trails, parking lots, and stormwater infrastructure
Provide data collection, analysis, and reporting
Participate in producing construction documents, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates
Participate in writing and producing technical project reports
Work under the direct guidance and mentorship of senior engineers and project managers
Travel occasionally to project sites or meetings as necessary

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university
EIT Certification, including passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
0–4 years of relevant experience, preferably in construction plan production, design calculations, and/or technical writing
Willingness and ability to travel occasionally to project sites or meetings
Effective written and oral communication skills
Ability to work in and support a team environment
High level of independence, confidence, and strong work ethic
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Sound use of fundamental engineering principles
Technical writing skills
Knowledge of Autodesk design platforms, such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D, or Bentley platforms, such as MicroStation and InRoads, is a plus
Experience with engineering modeling software such as WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD, Hydraflow, and/or USACE HEC programs is a plus
GIS working experience is a plus
