About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support field investigations or assessments
  • Perform design engineering calculations
  • Assist in the horizontal and vertical design of municipal roadways, parks, trails, parking lots, and stormwater infrastructure
  • Provide data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Participate in producing construction documents, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Participate in writing and producing technical project reports
  • Work under the direct guidance and mentorship of senior engineers and project managers
  • Travel occasionally to project sites or meetings as necessary

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university
  • EIT Certification, including passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
  • 0–4 years of relevant experience, preferably in construction plan production, design calculations, and/or technical writing
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally to project sites or meetings
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work in and support a team environment
  • High level of independence, confidence, and strong work ethic
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Sound use of fundamental engineering principles
  • Technical writing skills
  • Knowledge of Autodesk design platforms, such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D, or Bentley platforms, such as MicroStation and InRoads, is a plus
  • Experience with engineering modeling software such as WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD, Hydraflow, and/or USACE HEC programs is a plus
  • GIS working experience is a plus
