About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead a team delivering street, highway, and interstate projects across Missouri and the Midwest
  • Assist with winning new projects and growing the transportation group
  • Manage the career growth of direct reports
  • Work with clients, project managers, support staff, and senior staff to execute and complete projects
  • Manage assigned tasks and projects through their full lifecycle
  • Develop project scopes and hours with senior staff
  • Write technical sections of proposals
  • Oversee project and quality management plan delivery
  • Deliver technical tasks and manage and review design specifications, calculations, reports, and plans
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary internal teams to resolve design issues
  • Manage individual and group-assigned tasks
  • Mentor staff and establish client relationships
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Licensed engineer in the state of Missouri
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in the design of streets and highways
  • Proficiency with MicroStation/OpenRoads
  • Knowledge of and experience with federal, state, and local regulations for street and highway design projects
  • Experience mentoring less experienced staff
  • Specific experience executing projects for state and local municipalities involving highways, streets, or sidewalks and trails
  • 8+ years of experience preferred
  • Specific experience executing projects for MoDOT preferred
  • Established client relationships preferred
  • Experience contracting on MoDOT projects preferred
