RTT Inspector

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform on-site quality control inspections and testing of construction materials
- Contribute to department goals by supporting project delivery, quality standards, and client expectations
- Perform soil density testing using nuclear gauge and sand cone methods in accordance with ASTM, GDOT, and project specifications
- Collect concrete samples and perform field testing, including slump, air, and temperature tests
- Conduct asphalt sampling and testing as required
- Perform proof rolls, undercut observations, footing inspections, and other construction monitoring activities
- Carry out quality assurance inspections and material sampling to ensure compliance with project requirements
- Interpret project plans, drawings, and specifications to verify construction adherence
- Prepare detailed field reports, document daily activities, and calculate testing data accurately
- Monitor work procedures for safety compliance
- Coordinate with clients, supervisors, foremen, engineers, and contractors on site
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED required
- GDOT RTT Certification required or ability to obtain
- ACI Concrete Field Testing certification preferred
- Radiation Safety Training for Nuclear Gauges required
- Experience ranging from entry-level to experienced technician levels (0–7+ years)
- Strong understanding of construction materials and field testing procedures
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record required
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
