About the role
- Contribute to department goals by supporting project delivery, fees, and profit objectives
- Organize and conduct engineering investigations under the guidance of senior staff
- Assist with project planning, scope development, and workflow management
- Draft straightforward reports and support preparation of complex technical documents
- Provide engineering services during construction, including recordkeeping, progress reporting, and observation of construction procedures
- Research feasibility of design alternatives, site conditions, and regulatory requirements
- Prepare preliminary estimates of man-hours, costs, and materials
- Coordinate with other disciplines as needed
- Perform field observations, quality assurance, and quality control inspections
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical concentration preferred)
- Master of Science in Geotechnical Engineering a plus
- Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) registration preferred
- 2–3 years of relevant experience required
- Familiarity with Department of Transportation (DOT) projects preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
