About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Guide and develop a high-performing engineering team
Support engineers’ career growth through regular 1-on-1s, performance reviews, and development plans
Lead recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding
Cultivate a positive, inclusive, and psychologically safe team culture
Own team delivery outcomes, velocity, and operational excellence
Ensure system reliability, performance, and scalability
Set technical standards and guide architectural decisions
Ensure code quality through reviews and technical debt management
Lead production incident response and post-mortem processes
Partner with Product, Design, Security, and other stakeholders on roadmaps and dependencies
Manage team capacity, risks, progress, and blockers
Contribute to departmental technical strategy and drive innovation

Requirements

What you’ll need

Proven leadership skills with ability to inspire, coach, and mentor engineers
Strong technical background in software engineering principles and modern methodologies, including Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
High emotional intelligence and ability to build trust
Strategic thinking and strong problem-solving skills
Ability to translate business priorities into technical execution
Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, continuous learning, and improvement
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
8+ years of software engineering experience, including delivery of complex systems
2+ years of direct people management experience, including performance and career development
Demonstrable experience leading Agile/Scrum teams and driving continuous improvement
Experience with project budgeting, resource planning, and reporting
Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Ability to advise on technical strategy and align it with business objectives
Master’s degree in CS, Engineering, or MBA
Certifications in Agile/Scrum, Leadership, or Cloud Architecture
Experience in governance, compliance, or risk management
Track record of mentoring engineers and fostering inclusive team culture
Exposure to scaling teams, distributed systems, and enterprise-level architecture
