About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a portfolio of 150–250 institutional accounts and drive measurable revenue growth
- Develop and continuously revisit comprehensive account plans with internal POD teams
- Analyze customer usage data and performance trends to identify account health, challenges, and growth opportunities
- Lead renewal agreement negotiations while meeting revenue goals and compliance requirements
- Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities across Wiley’s journal and non-journal portfolio
- Research client organizations and align tailored solutions with their strategic goals
- Cultivate relationships with decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders at client institutions
- Conduct strategic, consultative negotiations to secure mutually beneficial agreements
- Maintain accurate CRM pipelines and provide forecasts and insights to leadership
- Collaborate with customer success, sales operations, editorial, and other teams
- Represent Wiley at conferences and industry events
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree (4-year)
- Minimum 5 years of proven success managing complex, strategic accounts and consistently exceeding sales targets
- Experience in consultative sales with a track record of achieving financial goals in a high-impact role
- Ability to collaborate across teams and regions
- Ability to diagnose institutional clients’ unique needs and provide value-driven solutions
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a book of business proactively
- Experience leading data-driven negotiations and creating win-win outcomes
- Willingness to travel up to 40% to meet clients and attend industry events
