About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives to grow Wiley's Advanced Portfolio within the physical chemistry community globally.
  • Leverage your network, knowledge of the subject area and its development, and desk research skills to commission high-quality papers and build collaborative relationships with leading researchers to enhance content quality and brand influence.
  • Represent Wiley and the physical sciences portfolio at conferences and through in-person and virtual outreach activities at universities and research institutes.
  • Collaborate with the global editorial team across departments to develop the journal portfolio and to manage manuscripts submitted from related subject areas for Advanced Science.
  • Contribute to the editorial evaluation, peer review, and decision-making for manuscripts submitted to one or more journals.
  • Collaborate with managers and colleagues to establish a team culture of trust, respect, and high performance.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science or related fields
  • 2+ years of post-PhD work experience (Post-doctoral, Academic, Publishing)
  • Subject matter expertise in physical chemistry with preference in energy, catalysis, and surface science
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a collaborative setting and achieve results through personal influence and engagement
  • Self-motivated, diplomatic, and flexible approach with outstanding organizational, efficiency, and time management skills
  • Excellent command of the English language (both written and verbal)
  • Prior experience in publishing, editorial, or science communication experience and understanding of Open Access workflows and Open Research is highly desirable.
