About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and execute strategic initiatives to grow Wiley's Advanced Portfolio within the physical chemistry community globally.
Leverage your network, knowledge of the subject area and its development, and desk research skills to commission high-quality papers and build collaborative relationships with leading researchers to enhance content quality and brand influence.
Represent Wiley and the physical sciences portfolio at conferences and through in-person and virtual outreach activities at universities and research institutes.
Collaborate with the global editorial team across departments to develop the journal portfolio and to manage manuscripts submitted from related subject areas for Advanced Science.
Contribute to the editorial evaluation, peer review, and decision-making for manuscripts submitted to one or more journals.
Collaborate with managers and colleagues to establish a team culture of trust, respect, and high performance.

Requirements

What you’ll need

PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science or related fields
2+ years of post-PhD work experience (Post-doctoral, Academic, Publishing)
Subject matter expertise in physical chemistry with preference in energy, catalysis, and surface science
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to work in a collaborative setting and achieve results through personal influence and engagement
Self-motivated, diplomatic, and flexible approach with outstanding organizational, efficiency, and time management skills
Excellent command of the English language (both written and verbal)
Prior experience in publishing, editorial, or science communication experience and understanding of Open Access workflows and Open Research is highly desirable.
