About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Strategically develop one or more journals from both scientific and publishing perspectives
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with authors, peer reviewers, and editorial board members
- Leverage subject-matter expertise, professional networks, and awareness of field developments to drive content acquisition and submissions growth
- Represent Wiley and the physical sciences portfolio at conferences and through outreach activities
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across departments to support the development and growth of the journal portfolio
- Contribute to editorial assessment, peer-review management, and decision-making for manuscripts
Requirements
What you’ll need- A PhD in physics, chemistry, materials science, or a closely related discipline
- Two or more years of post-PhD experience (postdoctoral, industrial, academic, publishing, and/or international experience is beneficial but not essential)
- A strong publication record and a deep understanding of the physical sciences research landscape
- Strong communication and networking skills
- A solid understanding of scientific publishing, including commissioning and the peer-review process
- Familiarity with Open Access workflows and Open Research practices
