About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Strategically develop one or more journals from both scientific and publishing perspectives
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with authors, peer reviewers, and editorial board members
  • Leverage subject-matter expertise, professional networks, and awareness of field developments to drive content acquisition and submissions growth
  • Represent Wiley and the physical sciences portfolio at conferences and through outreach activities
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues across departments to support the development and growth of the journal portfolio
  • Contribute to editorial assessment, peer-review management, and decision-making for manuscripts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A PhD in physics, chemistry, materials science, or a closely related discipline
  • Two or more years of post-PhD experience (postdoctoral, industrial, academic, publishing, and/or international experience is beneficial but not essential)
  • A strong publication record and a deep understanding of the physical sciences research landscape
  • Strong communication and networking skills
  • A solid understanding of scientific publishing, including commissioning and the peer-review process
  • Familiarity with Open Access workflows and Open Research practices
