About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the strategy and drive profitable growth of White Cap’s business with residential local and national homebuilders
  • Own trade expansion planning across residential product categories, including wood connectors, fasteners, and other building materials
  • Develop, track, and adjust annual financial and non-financial goals and objectives
  • Collaborate with Sales, Category, Purchasing, Marketing, field, and functional teams
  • Review regional branch inventory levels and guide Branch Managers
  • Drive sales and profitability for engineered products and aligned trades
  • Manage Technical Sales Consultants and develop the team
  • Oversee trade expansion metrics and field accountability
  • Create and implement plans to penetrate new markets and grow the customer base
  • Assist with promotion, marketing functions, and key project strategies
  • Establish partnerships with industry associations
  • Build relationships with contractors and suppliers to secure new business
  • Monitor and report KPIs including revenue growth, market share, and customer satisfaction
  • Recommend improvements to leadership and key executives
  • Oversee major trade expansion projects, ensuring compliance with standards, deadlines, and budgets
  • Coordinate technical sales and promotion commitments in White Cap/vendor contracts
  • Coordinate product training for regional associates

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline typically required
  • Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field
  • May require certification
  • Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report required
  • Preferred: 10+ years of detailed industry experience, emphasizing residential construction, wood connectors/structural hardware, or related residential building materials
  • Preferred: Experience with local and national homebuilders, builder account management, and residential trade expansion
  • Preferred: Technical expertise in wood connector and structural hardware product lines
  • Preferred: Strong project management skills
