About the role
- Gather pricing data from various data sources, analyzes and normalizes the information.
- Responsible for providing consistent, relevant and accurate pricing data as well as guidance/knowledge of the information to share with team to help ensure margin integrity.
- Serves as a resource to assigned region in area of expertise.
- Gathers and compiles pricing data; conducts research for industry trends and benchmarks; and normalizes data to be incorporated into a centralized data format.
- Analyzes, reports, makes comparisons to industry/company benchmarks, determines trends, and shares with team.
- Is tasked with daily field requests, troubleshooting and interaction with sales team.
- Prepares spreadsheets for data analysis; prepare reports with charts and graphs.
- Shares relevant information with sales/pricing team.
- Provides recommendations based on findings and analysis.
- Provides input on policies and procedures.
- Works closely with field to find margin opportunities and revenue growth through pricing data and recommendations.
- Participates on department and interdepartmental projects.
- May serve as Team Lead.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline
- Generally, 2-4 years of experience in a related field
- Certification is required in some areas
- Very strong in excel, Power BI, Tableau or like reporting system
- 4+ years in an analytical role - Required
- Demonstrated strength in Excel and building ad hoc Tableau or Power BI reports - Required
- Experience tying multiple data sources together - Required
- Pricing experience - Preferred
- Experience connecting to Databricks, Snowflake or other data warehousing systems - nice to have.
- Must have experience applying critical thinking skills
- Must be solution-oriented
- Must have excellent listening and presentation skills using visualizations with supporting data.
