About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage the revenue recognition process and all related tasks, from contract review to customer billing to revenue deferrals and recognition as part of the monthly close process
Ensure compliance with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards
Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations
Assist with sales tax process, including collaboration with Operations team
Prepare revenue reports, metrics, analyses and other ad-hoc duties within the Finance team as needed
Liaise between other members of the Finance group as well as key members of the operations team to ensure seamless operations
Support team efforts to continuously improve and gain operation efficiencies by creating and maintaining documentation for internal training, workflow processes, and communication/troubleshooting

Requirements

What you’ll need

A minimum of 3 years' experience in accounting
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, particularly with revenue recognition and Accounting Standard ASC 606
Minimum of a 4-year College degree and/or related certification in Accounting preferred
Maniacal attention to detail and unrelenting focus on accuracy in all duties and processes required
Expert-level Excel skills are required
Experience with software implementations/migrations and revenue related systems and tools a strong plus
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex accounting information in a clear and understandable manner.
A strong team player with the flexibility to adapt to rotating schedules and the demands of a startup environment.
