About the role
- Lead and develop a team of technical product managers, raising the bar for product quality, clarity, and execution.
- Translate complex systems and ambiguous, ever-changing opportunities into coherent product strategy, defining how platform capabilities (including data ontologies, ML models, personalization frameworks, and partner APIs) evolve to support multiple product teams and long-term, defensible business value at global scale.
- Own the end-to-end roadmap for Samsung Food’s shared platform and intelligence capabilities that power consumer experiences across Samsung.
- Drive alignment across multiple internal and partner teams – including services teams, Samsung Health, Big Data Platform, and SmartThings.
- Identify shared needs and ensure platform investments unlock leverage for multiple user-facing teams.
- Partner with engineering and delivery leadership to shape platform delivery models, ensuring we move quickly when prototyping new capabilities, and apply rigorous, low-risk processes when updating systems that are already scaled and widely used.
- Ensure reliability, maintainability, and performance of the platform by making clear tradeoffs between speed, quality, and technical debt.
- Uphold delivery-minded product standards across the Platform PM team — ensuring PMs provide clear priorities, manage their cross-team dependencies, and proactively surface risks.
- Represent the platform stream to leadership, providing clarity on architectural decisions, delivery risks, dependencies, and long-term opportunities.
- Use quantitative and qualitative insights to inform platform evolution, ensuring capabilities are aligned with real user needs and enable meaningful differentiation in food and health experiences.
Requirements
- 7–10 years of product management experience, with 3+ years leading PMs in a platform or systems-focused domain.
- A track record of leading complex technical products, such as: backend platforms, ML/AI-driven features (bonus points for experience with agentic systems), ontologies or semantic data models, personalization engines, large-scale API ecosystems.
- Evidence of outstanding leadership, including developing and coaching PMs, setting standards for clarity and execution, and building healthy team cultures.
- Strong technical fluency, with an ability to collaborate deeply with engineering/ML/ontology data teams, understand architectural tradeoffs, and translate technical constraints into product decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional complexity and transparency, especially across multiple teams or organizations with different priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to make complex systems understandable and facilitate alignment across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A mindset that blends strategic thinking with hands-on execution, able to set long-term platform direction while engaging deeply in day-to-day architectural discussions.
- A collaborative, low-ego approach suited to a fast-moving, globally distributed, high-accountability environment.
- A genuine interest in food, health, and/or behavior change, demonstrating a passion for solving hard technical problems that meaningfully improve people’s lives.
Benefits
- 100% remote work
- Join a supportive and dynamic team.
- Contract-based, full-time role (40 hours/week, depending on workload) with a long-term commitment.
