About the role
- We are a fast-growing AI Engineering team driving WEX's strategic vision to integrate AI into the core of our product and business.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to learn about our customers' needs and challenges.
- Measure, inspect, and drive decisions using data.
- Design, test, code, and instrument AI/ML platforms/tools.
- Develop, evaluate, deploy, and monitor AI/ML models.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Support live platforms/systems, promote proactive monitoring, rapid incident response, and continuous improvement.
- Analyze existing platforms/systems and processes to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvements.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as an AI/ML engineer or Data Scientist with strong software development skills or PhD in AI/ML
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; A Master or PhD in the area of AI/ML is a big plus
- Proven track record of delivering end-to-end solutions using diverse technologies, with Java, C#, GoLang, or Python as your core programming language
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with stakeholders throughout the product delivery lifecycle
- Evidence of innovative problem-solving skills
- Experience with using Large Language Models for generative AI projects
- Experience with using ML algorithms and platforms
- Understanding of data processing techniques
- Experience in the financial industry a plus
- Technical Skills Proficiency in at least one of the languages mentioned above
- Experience in commonly used LLM models and/or ML packages including deep learning.
- Strong data manipulation skills
- Solid understanding of probability and statistics concepts (distributions, Bayesian inference, maximum likelihood estimation, etc.)
- Experience with software development and the SDLC
- Experience with Cloud technology such as AWS
- Familiar with Kubernetes
