About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Supervise inventory control clerks, supply room personnel, and return goods coordinators
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures to improve workflow, accuracy, performance, and compliance
  • Lead multi-site inventory management for raw materials, finished goods, and consignment locations
  • Oversee cycle counting, month-end inventory, year-end inventory, and related control processes
  • Support production scheduling and line configuration to maximize throughput, reduce downtime, and meet customer and inventory requirements
  • Develop annual SKU forecasts and manage related information in JD Edwards
  • Maintain Product Data Management processes, including creation and maintenance of JDE catalog items across branch plants
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve inventory, planning, scheduling, and operational issues
  • Provide coaching, direction, and support to team members to drive accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement
  • Support manufacturing operations through regular interaction with production, inventory, receiving, supply room, and cross-functional teams
  • Occasionally work on the production floor while following safety procedures and PPE requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of six years of direct inventory management and planning experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn concepts into actionable plans
  • Proven ability to lead through influence across departments and levels of the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience with JD Edwards or similar database/ERP systems
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds
  • Ability to follow required safety procedures and personal protective equipment requirements
  • CPSM or similar supply chain designation preferred
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent continuous improvement experience preferred
