About the role
- Develop engineering design packages, specifications, and bid documents.
- Create models, simulations, and prototypes to validate concepts.
- Apply engineering principles to evaluate safety, cost, reliability, and constructability.
- Support permitting, materials selection, and readiness reviews.
- Visit hydro facilities to scope future projects and support active construction.
- Communicate with site leadership to align project work with plant operations.
- Monitor installation quality, safety, and adherence to design specifications.
- Troubleshoot issues and resolve technical challenges in real time.
- Coordinate project schedules, budgets, contractors, and deliverables.
- Use SAP and scheduling tools (Primavera P6 or MS Project) to track progress.
- Lead kickoff meetings, provide status updates, and manage documentation through closeout.
- Investigate root-cause issues and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Controls, or Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- Minimum 2 years of engineering experience (hydro or industrial)
- Valid driver's license
- Experience with SAP (work management), Primavera P6 or MS Project, and Bluebeam
- Hydro industry familiarity (6+ months) is a bonus.
