About the role

  • Develop engineering design packages, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Create models, simulations, and prototypes to validate concepts.
  • Apply engineering principles to evaluate safety, cost, reliability, and constructability.
  • Support permitting, materials selection, and readiness reviews.
  • Visit hydro facilities to scope future projects and support active construction.
  • Communicate with site leadership to align project work with plant operations.
  • Monitor installation quality, safety, and adherence to design specifications.
  • Troubleshoot issues and resolve technical challenges in real time.
  • Coordinate project schedules, budgets, contractors, and deliverables.
  • Use SAP and scheduling tools (Primavera P6 or MS Project) to track progress.
  • Lead kickoff meetings, provide status updates, and manage documentation through closeout.
  • Investigate root-cause issues and implement corrective actions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical Controls, or Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • Minimum 2 years of engineering experience (hydro or industrial)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Experience with SAP (work management), Primavera P6 or MS Project, and Bluebeam
  • Hydro industry familiarity (6+ months) is a bonus.
