About the role
- Develop project scope, cost, and schedule baselines
- Prepare risk and partner registers
- Author project charters and project execution plans
- Manage project execution to exceed quality, schedule, and financial goals while following the department protocols for acquiring team members to complete project work
- Manage the scope, schedule, cost/revenue, risk, quality, resources, communications, and partners while aligned with project/contract requirements
- Work with teams to improve schedule and resource use based on priorities from resource managers and product managers
- Preparation and oversight of project cost/revenue expenditures, forecasts, and progress evaluations to support project and financial reporting requirements
- Promote teamwork including issue and maintenance of project process metrics and process maps to ensure team, customer, and all partners are kept informed of project status
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in project management, Engineering, or related technical discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a project manager, where the project manager directs low to moderate complexity projects to successful completion
- Alternatively, a candidate may consider 3 years in a technical/engineering role plus 3 years as a project manager of technical engineering projects as equivalent
- Experience managing technical engineering projects in a regulated industry
- Understanding of the Project Management Institute's (PMI®) Project Management Body of Knowledge
- PMI Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification or the willingness to obtain certification within a reasonable time frame specified
