About the role
- Prepare detailed nuclear engineering documents, including engineering design change packages, 50.59 screens, applicability reviews, and engineering assessments.
- Support engineering activities related to piping replacements, floor loading evaluations, rigging of heavy loads, and other major capital project needs.
- Review engineering deliverables such as calculations, drawings, procedures, contingency plans, and training materials.
- Perform design verifications and owner's reviews to ensure compliance with nuclear fleet design standards.
- Be present in the field to support project implementation activities, ensuring engineering intent is met and safety and quality standards are upheld.
- Schedule major engineering segments to ensure understanding of long-range development schedules.
- Participate in project schedule and outage planning meetings, providing engineering insight and direction.
Requirements
- 10+ years of design engineering experience
- Experience in the nuclear industry
- Experience developing equipment design and procurement specification documents
- Qualified in Engineering Design Change per Standard Design Process IP-ENG-001
- Civil/Structural Engineering degree (B.S. required; M.S. ABET accredited)
- Years of equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
- Familiarity with standard civil engineering codes
- Experience preparing equipment specifications
- Background supporting large capital projects
- Experience preparing and reviewing 10 CFR 50.59 Screens
