About the role

  • Develop standardized cost frameworks and work breakdown structures (WBS) for Advanced Reactors hardware, software, services, and site work.
  • Establish cost governance, version control, and traceability across estimates, baselines, and change orders.
  • Lead periodic cost reviews and gate readiness for program milestones.
  • Develop bottom-up estimates (BOM, routing, labor standards, tooling, special processes) and top down/parametric models using historical, industry benchmarks, and design complexity drivers.
  • Create should cost analyses for main commodities (e.g., high temperature alloys, machining, specialized components).
  • Model NPI learning curves, yield improvement trajectories, and capacity/throughput scenarios for pilot and scaled production.
  • Partner with engineering to define cost targets by subsystem and perform cost trade-off analyses.
  • Facilitate DFM/DFA workshops and measure cost impacts of design changes.
  • Work with Supply Chain to support cost assessments, target pricing, and supplier negotiations.
  • Validate manufacturing routings, cycle times, and test operations with Operations and Quality, including special process costs and nuclear-grade QA requirements.
  • Integrate cost models with program schedules and earned value metrics; maintain Estimates at Completion (EACs) and cost risk/opportunity registers.
  • Provide executive-ready dashboards and scenario analysis (e.g., sourcing strategy, insource vs. outsource, schedule acceleration).
  • Ensure cost data and documentation meet audit-ready standards for government and commercial customers.
  • Uphold nuclear industry expectations for traceability and configuration control
