About the role

  • Manage organization, safety and maintenance of the machine shop
  • Reduce set up time and machining time through process improvements
  • Establish working relationships with union leadership to insure a cooperative environment.
  • Coordinate and manage on-site contractors for craft training, repair of equipment
  • Plan and schedule for 3 shifts, and coordinate Machinist work with the Maintenance Planning Department and Maintenance Team
  • Enforce safety policies by conducting inspections and counseling your team as applicable.
  • Organize training and provide appropriate documentation of training for experience in SAP_PM.
  • Prepare Technical Documentation to include drawings, specifications, Spare parts list, and update the work-order status in CMMS.
  • Support the written safety program that facilitates continuous improvement in the severity and frequency of accidents, resulting in no lost-time accidents and ensuring the safety of all employees.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or recognized equivalent plus five or more years directly related experience supervising in a Machining manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 5 year experience with operation of 3 and 4 axis CNC Machines, tool set-up, editing and inspection in a production environment
  • Minimum 2-3 year experience managing schedules, workflow, safety, personnel and equipment
  • Experience with software applications such as Master Cam
  • Experience with planning, scheduling, estimating, requisitioning and reporting
  • Read blueprints and technical drawings
  • Can work overtime which could include weekends and backshifts.
